Loch Ness Riding

Bookings are taken in good faith by Loch Ness Riding and we expect that clients have filled out their Rider registration forms truthfully and to the best of their ability. If you have any issues with completing the forms we are only a phone call/email away and can help and advise. This is particularly important for our visiting hacking riders who have probably not ridden with us before and do not have to complete an assessment lesson prior to hacking out.

Due thought should be given to your level of competence. Loch Ness Riding does not take inexperienced riders and the level we require of our riders is as follows :-

Riders should be competent and balanced at all paces on forward going horses over hilly and varied terrain – English/classical style - no jumping required! I am sorry but we do not take western style riders as the two systems of riding are not compatible.  If you are clearly (in our very experienced opinion) not at this basic level of competence you will not be able to continue with the ride and will be returned to the yard with no refund given. This is due to safely concerns for both yourself, our horses, and any other rider in your company.

We do have a strictly imposed weight limit of 14.5 st (92 kg) and you may be asked to step on our scales when you arrive. If you are over the limit, you will not be able to ride and will not receive a refund. We do not take children under 13 either unless by special arrangement as we do not have any ponies.

You must follow all directions given to you by your ride leader or instructor during your time on the yard with us and while you are riding.

Any issues will be taken seriously and dealt with personally and amicably by the proprietor as quickly as possible so achieve a good outcome for all parties. Please come to us rather than heading straight to social media to have a rant!
