Covid Yard Rules
Yard Rules for Loch Ness Riding when coming to ride with us during the Covid Pandemic.
Our horses rely on our staying healthy to look after them!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you very much indeed for your custom and while all these rules must seem draconian, they are designed to keep us all safe and hopefully you will enjoy your session nevertheless. We look forward to easier times for all.
We send you these rules to read before you come to our yard for your lesson/hack. We will also send you a rider registration form to fill in if you do not ride with us regularly. Please fill it in and scan it back to us by email – candy@lochnessriding.co.uk
Kindly just about all our riders take a lateral flow test before they come to us to check that they are not bringing any unwanted bugs with them and we would be grateful if you can continue to do this if possible.
Riding must be paid for prior to your lesson or hack by bank transfer if you have a British bank account. If you are abroad and are wanting to pay in foreign currency then we can send you a Stripe invoice to your email address for you to pay with any card. Once payment has been made your reservation in confirmed.
Please bring with you to the yard a face covering to wear when you arrive with us. If you need any riding equipment by way of hat, boots, chaps, we make a small charge for these as seen on our riding prices page. Check that your own equipment is i.e. hat and body protector (if used) is up to the current standard and has the required kite mark.
We have two very friendly dogs who may demand your attention but please do not stroke them as we disinfect all other surfaces that you touch but cannot disinfect our dogs and obviously we cuddle them too. The dogs are as much a surface as anything else!
When you arrive, please park beside the green muck trailer outside the yard and hoot your horn. If you need to come with a driver then the driver will need to wait in the car for you or please ask for permission for them to watch lessons in the gallery. Toilet facilities for visitors are available but please follow all the covid protocol signs in that building.
Someone will come and escort you from your car (at a safe distance) to your horse. You will then be introduced to your horse. You can adjust your stirrups yourself, but help is on hand for this and to tighten your girth and mount. Once organised you can take off your mask. You must maintain a distance of at least two metres from your coach/helper at all times.
At the end of the lesson or hack the horse will be taken away from you by your instructor and led to the stables to be untacked. You must then return directly to your car and leave the yard. Thank you for your patience.
